Tomorrow in AP Stats, I’ll take my students to the lab where we can practice making histograms and a Normal Probability Plot.
I copied the data from page 125 into a Word file and uploaded it to our Moodle Stat page. This way they can have more time to explore these two types of plots. They can just cut and paste the data in. For larger data sets, I’ll have them import a csv file.
I will recommend R-bloggers as a first stop for getting quick information on the syntax for the histogram. I also have a few pdf’s on our site for them to read.
Here is a screen capture of the code for the Normal Probability Plot. In R its called a QQ plot and the code is: qqnorm(data) and to put the line it is qqline(data).
